Ear Surgery

Ear surgery, also known as otoplasty, is a cosmetic surgery to improve the shape, position and proportion of the ear for both children and adults.

Overview of ear surgery

Some individuals have protruded or misshapen or some people have overly large ears. These people may suffer from lack of self-confidence and they have limited hair style choices. Otoplasty is designed to create a more natural and balanced appearance to the ears that can translate into improved self-esteem and self-confidence. Otoplasty can treat macrotia (overly large ears), microtia(non-natural small ears), protruding ears and dissatisfaction with previous ear surgery.

Type of ear surgery

  • Ear augmentation: for microtia.
  • Otopexy: an ear pinback, “flattens” protruding ears.
  • Ear reduction: reduce the pinna when it is too big.
