Chin reduction, also known as reduction mentoplasty or genioplasty,is a cosmetic procedure which seeks to reshape the jawline chin reductions generally involve surgery to sculpt the bone contours.
Overview of chin Reduction
Some people actually find that their chins are too large to fit in with their other facial features. By moderately reshaping the bone and other structural tissues, cosmetic chin reduction surgery can create a more pleasing contour for the face. No facial implants are necessary, and the results should appear natural in every way. Chin reduction surgery offers an effective solution for refining facial definition and contour. A chin reduction can create a more harmonious balance between nose and chin as it creates a more equal proportion between the two. Performed in conjunction with a facelift and rhinoplasty, a chin reduction procedure can be the final element in creating an elegant, beautiful appearance. Both plastic surgeons and maxillofacial surgeons (surgeons who work on the mouth and jaw) can perform this type of surgery.
Chin Reduction Recommended For:

Before Chin reduction
Chin reduction surgery begins with the surgeon making an incision inside the mouth (near the lower lip) or under the chin. Using specialized instruments, the surgeon detaches the bone at the tip of the chin and then reshapes and removes the excess bone to properly proportion the contour. The tip is then repositioned with the remaining section of chin and held together using wires and plates. The incisions are sutured to complete the procedure.
During Chin reduction
To create a beautiful smile, the dentist will choose the right method by considering all facial components, hair color, tooth shape and appearance, gum tissue, toothpaste, and lips. After evaluation of oral health and considering the teeth problems, the best method will be chosen according to the dentist’s preference and also confirmation of person and will be applied.
